"Date no Junsui Akabuta" Date's Pure Red Pork (Registered Trademark) ("Date" pronounced "Dah-teh")
Our own farm and designated farmers in Miyagi Prefecture raise Date's Pure Red Pork with great care and affection.
Date's Pure Red Pork is carefully selected based on our unique quality standards from the purebred Duroc breed, known as "Shimofuri Red." It is named "Red Pork" due to its red-colored coat. The meat has a light pink hue, is incredibly tender, and is rich in juiciness. The lean part of the meat has a fine texture and is smooth, while the fat has a deep, rich umami flavor. It pairs easily with other ingredients, making it delicious in any dish.
Izunuma Ham
Some of our products have won gold medals at SUFFA, the German International Processed Meat Products Competition.
Based on the techniques of German master craftsmen, the Izunuma Ham series is crafted with seasonings tailored to the Japanese palate. In addition to ham, our product lineup includes bacon, sausages, and various other processed meats. We use locally sourced pork from producers in Miyagi Prefecture, ensuring traceability and quality. Each product is carefully aged to bring out the best flavor. Some of our items have even won gold medals at SUFFA, the German International Processed Meat Products Competition, and we continue to create products that highlight the natural taste of the ingredients.
Izunuma Pork
Tender texture and vibrant red color—these are the hallmarks of Izunuma Pork.
"Izunuma Pork" comes from pigs sired by the Duroc breed "Shimofuri Red." The pigs are raised at a designated local farm, Satake Farm, where the top priority is fostering healthy growth by minimizing stress. They are fed a carefully formulated diet enriched with minerals and Bacillus subtilis to support gut health.
This dedication to quality results in pork that is free of any unpleasant odor, with a strikingly rich red hue and a tender texture.
Rice (Hitomebore)
At Izunuma Nosan, we begin preparing our rice fields as soon as the snow melts each year.
Because rice is a daily staple, we want to deliver something both delicious and safe. With this in mind, we cultivate our rice using less than half the pesticides of conventional farming methods. Our main focus is on growing strong, resilient seedlings, as sturdier rice plants are less prone to lodging, which in turn helps reduce the need for pesticides.
We currently grow Hitomebore, a rice variety born in Miyagi Prefecture. It is highly resistant to cold damage and boasts an excellent balance of stickiness, luster, and umami.
Blueberries
Carefully grown on our own farm, our blueberries are available fresh only in season, along with a variety of processed products.
At Izunuma Nosan’s farm, we cultivate six different varieties with about 500 blueberry bushes. Growing multiple varieties helps improve fruit quality through cross-pollination and ensures a longer harvest season, from early to late varieties.
In spring, the bushes bloom with delicate white flowers, and the ovaries begin to swell. As early summer arrives, the berries ripen under the warm sunlight and are harvested all at once. Each berry is hand-picked with care, offering a perfect balance of refreshing sweetness and tartness.
Gelato
Made with locally sourced ingredients, our gelato features a modest sweetness that brings out the natural flavors.
We use milk produced within Miyagi Prefecture, which gives the milk flavor a gentle sweetness. In addition to milk, we incorporate fresh vegetables, fruits, and other locally grown ingredients into our gelato. We are constantly developing new flavors that shine a fresh light on the ingredients available in our region.
To allow the natural taste of the ingredients to shine, all of our gelato varieties are lightly sweetened. The result is a refreshing and simple deliciousness that has been well-received.
Doburoku and Amazake
Enjoy the refreshing taste and the natural, gentle sweetness we take pride in.
In 2015, we began our challenge to create doburoku (unrefined sake) and amazake (non-alcoholic sweet rice drink) using rice from the Fuyumizu Rice Fields (Winter water-retained rice fields). This unique farming method involves leaving water in the rice fields over the winter, allowing for a harmonious coexistence with nature. Using rice from these fields, we crafted doburoku with the addition of Izunuma Megumi Yeast and amazake with the addition of Izunuma Megumi Lactic Acid Bacteria.
In addition, our bottled amazake "Hatsukoi Sakura" is a collaboration product with students from Tome General Industrial High School. From the environmentally friendly rice used as the raw material to the product development process and the label artwork, this is a product that showcases the students' learning achievements. Enjoy the natural flavors that have been slowly fermented.
Cosmetics "Hasuhada"
Made with the natural blessings of Izunuma and carefully selected skin-beautifying ingredients.
This toner delivers moisturizing beauty ingredients deep into the skin, from the surface to the deeper layers, providing intense hydration.
-Lotus flower extract removed from Lake Izunuma is used. It has antioxidant properties that help prevent skin aging.
-Izunuma Megumi Lactic Acid Bacteria and "lactic acid fermented amazake" made with our own Hitomebore rice are included. These contain Vitamin B group for moisturizing, along with Kojic acid and Arbutin for brightening effects.
-Free from artificial colorants, mineral oils, and parabens.
-This product was created in response to the lotus removal efforts aimed at protecting the environment of Lake Izunuma. The lotus, when it decays and accumulates at the bottom of the lake, impacts the ecosystem. The removed lotus is used effectively, and part of the sales proceeds are donated to the Izunuma and Uchinuma Nature Conservation Fund.
